My name is Naomi and I stand proudly behind this product! I first heard about this wonder food from a Philipino friend of mine who had been taking the product since pregnancy with her first child. She told me that her family in the Philippines had used it for generations and I was instantly struck with wonder.
While she hadn’t informed me of the incredible amount of nutritional value it provided, she did inform me that she was nursing in addition to pumping for six months in order to create an additional six month supply for her daughter. She had decided she would stop nursing at six months but it was important nonetheless that her daughter have breast milk for an entire year. When she told me the amount of breast milk she was pumping in addition to the frequency of nursing sessions, I was floored; a whopping 25-30 ounces a day in just three pumping sessions! I was pregnant at the time with the beautiful little baby girl you see on this site, my dear Hannah Rose, and determined to breastfeed exclusively. I knew that many women struggle to produce enough milk and find themselves giving up out of frustration and I didn’t want to be one of them.
I got home and researched the bananas out of this super food and decided to give it a go. I started taking Moringa three weeks prior to Hannah’s due date and have been taking it since. Hannah latched instantly in the delivery room and started receiving that yummy, Moringa-enriched colostrum right away. I had already decided to take on the same plan as my friend and when my milk came in two days after getting home from the hospital on December 19th, 2012 I quickly got to work at my stored supply, for which we purchased a large deep freezer. I decided I would only have time to pump twice a day; once in the morning and once before going to bed and I am certain that I have Moringa to thank for the amount produced. In 15 to 20 minute sessions twice daily I consistently produced 18-24 ounces for the freezer while nursing on demand.
Since the making of the video here when Hannah was just six weeks old, she is now going on five months and I am in love with nursing. With no intention to stop until she is at least a year old, I ended up stopping the pumping sessions right at two months (just two weeks after the video). I ended up having so much of a stored supply that I was able to donate 330 ounces to an adopted baby. And I still have a solid 500 ounces left for Hannah's year supply on the weekends when mommy and daddy decide to kick back with some cocktails or go on a date night and leave her with grandma and grandpa. The supply has come in quite handy!
Hannah is a happy, healthy baby in the 83rd percentile for height and weight and she loves her Milky Momma! It gives me so much joy to know that my breast milk is plentiful and enriched with all the nutrients she needs from the Moringa, to compensate for any potential lack in my diet.
